REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals)

The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through earlier and more substantial identification procedures of the properties of chemical substances. RFR is fully in compliance with the regulations.

SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern)

Substances that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment can be identified as substances of very high concern (SVHCs). Some examples of the criteria for these include substances that are carcinogenic, mutagenic, bio-accumulative, or toxic for reproduction. Individual substances and articles within products may not contain an SVHC over the allotted 0.1 percent weight by weight threshold. RFR is fully in compliance and has not identified any components or materials that do not comply. We work closely with our supply base to identify potential non-compliances and to eliminate them.

Conflict Mineral Policy

RFR Metal Fabrication, Inc., as a socially responsible company, has a concern for the well-being of human life and health. We believe in fair and free trade of ideas and work and expect our employees, customers, and suppliers to respect human life and health as well.

Violence in Central Africa and nine adjoining countries has been fueled by greed over a natural abundance of the minerals tin, tungsten, tantalum, and gold. These “conflict minerals” are a source of money for armed groups who use slave labor and acts of terror for mining.

THE UNITED STATES SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION (SEC) has approved a rule that publicly traded companies must report the presence of “conflict minerals” which originate from Central Africa in products they manufacture or have manufactured.

RFR Metal Fabrication, Inc. surveys its suppliers to ensure CONFLICT-FREE MINERAL SOURCING so we can provide our customers with any information they may need in their reporting. Suppliers are expected to supply materials that are DRC conflict-free and to ensure their suppliers are complying as well.

Products supplied to RFR Metal Fabrication, Inc. must either not contain tantalum, tin, tungsten, or gold, or the minerals must originate from outside the DRC zone, come from scrap or recycled sources, or come from a conflict free smelter.
